Julian is actually an old school lover by heart, the MK6 that you saw on here earlier is his first non old school car that he has owned, since owning cars.
The love that went into this car is like no other.
He bought the car and built it up from scratch to fit his taste.
So as most of you might know, not so long ago this very car was featured in our local Speed n Sound magazine.
I am in two minds about this car, as I like the stock OEM+ side to it, but the wheels are not to my liking.
However in a way taking a closer look at the car it all strangely comes together quite well.
Julian has been on the lookout for a unique set of 15" wheels to complete the look of the car, but as per our shore limitations we do not always get what we want, and this is his very predicament.
The interior consists of a custom leather interior done on the seats and door cards.
Some other touches are the updated gauges in the center console, a fire extinguisher and some Wolfsburg touches.
The thing that sets the feel for me in this interior would be that Irmsher oak steering wheel.
The car is mint in every way possible.
New rubbers, resprayed, and everything either replaced with new items or been replaced with restored parts.
So the original Mk1 GT came out in 1974 for the first time.
The original motor was a 1.8l 85hp/63kw carb.
The original shape of the Golf MK1/A1 was designed by an Italian automobile architect / designer Giorgetto Giugiaro of the ItalDesign studio.
The shape was in production in South Africa for 1974 - 2009, living in most of any ones hearts as there first car owned after school.
Historically the Golf, is Volkswagen's 3rd best-selling model, with more than 25 million built by 2007.
Every generation of the golf has been a runner up in the European Car of the Year awards, but only one has been a winner, the Golf Mk3 in 1992.
Most of the Mk1's productions were initially in 3door hatchback style, other variants include 5door hatchback and estate. Golf also derived a notched back saloon car known as the Volkswagen Jetta.
The next rolling shot was the weirdest rolling shot I have ever done.
So here I am hanging out the window taking pics and all of a sudden this crazy chick driving in her Picanto and tries to drive in between the two cars whilst taking photo's.
She speeds up on us and slams on the horn...
Shows hands everywhere and almost drives into me...
Was stupid...
